About Me

I am a Yuin woman from the South East Coast.

My paintings are an expression of my connection to culture, Country, and spirit. I have painted for as long as I can remember, though I haven’t always shared my work. Creating has always been part of who I am, and my dream is to continue creating and to share my art with the world.

My artwork reflects the land we live on and the emotions and experiences that shape life. Each painting tells part of my story, and together they form a collective — representing the places I’ve been, the experiences I’ve lived, and the connections I’ve made along the way.

I paint Country because it is what inspires me and keeps me grounded. That connection is what carries me forward and continues to guide my practice.

Through my art, I hope to create good. I want to inspire people, bring love and unity into spaces, and create work that brings people together. My hope is that my paintings serve as a reminder that we are all living on this land, and that we have a responsibility to respect and honour Country, and each other.

DUNABBCREATIONS — THE JOURNEY

Dunabbcreations was created by Yuin artist Abby Duncan in the Northern Territory, growing organically through markets, community, and a deep love for creating meaningful art.

The journey began at local markets, where Abby offered henna designs — a traditional Indian body art practice — creating her own original designs and painting them onto people’s skin. Known simply as “the henna girl,” she built connections through shared moments, creativity, and conversation. Over time, Abby began bringing more of her artworks to markets, slowly expanding her offerings and sharing her paintings and creations with the wider community.

Dunabbcreations was created with the intention of turning art into something that brings happiness, connection, and meaning to people. What began as a small market presence has grown into a creative business rooted in story, culture, and lived experience.

Today, Dunabbcreations offers a growing range of handcrafted pieces, including painted animal skulls, original canvas paintings, art prints, Headskinz, and more — each created by Abby and shaped by her distinctive style and connection to Country. The journey continues to evolve, with plans for new products and future clothing designs.

You can find Dunabbcreations at local markets, including Tactile Arts markets and other community events across the Northern Territory. To stay updated on upcoming markets, events, and new releases, follow @dunabbcreations on Instagram.

Abby is also expanding her practice through @dunabbcreations_wear, where she is turning canvas into cloth and venturing into apparel and wearable art. This next chapter follows her vision of making art something you can wear — wear art, wear story.

Dunabbcreations continues to grow through community, sharing art that brings people together and honours creativity, connection, and place.
